This art was made using historic image making techniques, such as cyanotypes (1842), screenprinting (1911) and linocutting (circa 1890).
Cyberthug Remake Semester 2: Applied Media Studio
This was something I decided to do as supplementary material. It's an attempt to recreate the Cyberthug in Blender and Maya. I didn't end up finishing it, but it's a start in learning character modelling.
Cyberthug Core Semester 2: Applied Media Studio
This is the artificial intelligence that governs the Cyberthug civilisation. Only those it deems worthy enough are able to access its chamber and advise it on how to improve things.
This paper required making animations that were a combination of a theme chosen by the student and themes provided weekly by the tutor. I chose "calm" as my overall theme.
Cyberthug Semester 1: Applied Media Studio
This was a half-year project that involved creating a fictional species set in the future. The model shown above is a member of the Cyberthug race - humans that required artificial components to survive when the Earth's environment became toxic.
This short video was a compilation of various image making skills and visual techniques learnt throughout the paper. The focus was using them strategically to tell a narrative about your interests or life story.
Photocollage Semester 1: Image Making Studio
This was a fun one. It was about combining your interests/life story into a single image. The Zelda triforce and Mount Kaukau feature here because that's some of the stuff.
2019
Teleporter Website
This assignment was about promoting a futuristic artefact made in Applied Media Studio through a website, which needed to be personally coded with HTML and CSS.
This was made for a graphic design class, and involved creating a concept for a product.
Electric Scooter Infographic
This was made in Adobe Animate. The assignment required an interactive Flash infographic to be made detailing statistics about a chosen vehicle.
Diploma of Creativity: Level 5
Wellington Institute of Technology, 2018
Dystopian City Semester 2: Image Making Studio
This was a cinematic video that used footage of buildings created earlier in the semester against a green screen, which was then edited to create a dystopian city trailer. Everyone's hand-ins were shown in the school cinema because they're masterpieces.
Calendars Semester 2: Design Studio
This was made by combining different forms of media to create a fresh calendar for the first half of 2019. The style of the bottom-right was inspired by Material Design. Photograms and 3D renders can be seen.
Principles of Animation Semester 2: Image Making Studio
This assignment required a 3D animation that contained as many of the 12 principles of animation as possible (defined by Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston).
For a Better Day Semester 1: Time-Based Studio
This assignment was about making a cinematic video of about 2 minutes that used DSLR skills creatively.
Interest Zines Semester 1: Design Studio
These zines are about my (at the time) favourite interests, photography and video.
This music video turned out really bad in my opinion. I didn't give much consideration to the camera techniques and the narrative was a little sloppy. I even lip-synched to my own voice!
PlayStation Commercial
This After Effects animation was a challenge to make use of the 12 principles of animation to advertise a product.
